The premium villas at Kanava Resort, offer unique space for being and staying present, as well as the opportunity to find your own path to simple luxury within breathtaking scenery. These modern cabins provide you with a comfortable and safe stay in a uniquely natural setting.
Nine equal timber villas, furnished with high-quality and tasteful materials, feature wall-to-ceiling windows with views towards the Oravi canal, the picturesque Lake Saimaa, and the Linnansaari National Park. These bright and spacious villas are perfect for travelers who seek quality accommodation in a natural setting.

- The villa has underfloor heating and an air-source heat pump with heating and cooling function.
A shared swimming area and dock are available on-site. The beach of lake Saimaa is only a quick walk away. You can go swimming from the communal dock. The beach is shallow and sandy. The services of the Oravi village are close (about 300 meters).
On the beachfront, you’ll also find Kanava Resort’s own campfire spot. Firewood for the open fire at the campfire spot can be found in each cottage as well as from the woodshed located near the tip of the Kanava Resort area.

There is one shared parking area for vehicles on the resort’s grounds, as well as up to four EV charging stations (11 kW / station) for electric cars. You can drive to the villa for loading and unloading only, but please park your car on its marked spot and keep the emergency exits clear.
During the summer season, two city bikes are available for our guests to use (cannot be reserved in advance). The bikes are located in the maintenance building and are perfect for a quick trip to the local shop or for exploring the nearby canal area. Each bike has a basket, which can also be used as a shopping basket.
The plot also includes an old vaulted cellar, and a glass pavilion, suitable for organizing small events and meetings on-site. The glass pavilion is freely available for use by guests staying at the resort and is also available for private events. Indoors, the pavilion features a dining table for eight, a comfortable area with sofa, an electric grill, and an atmospheric gas fireplace. During the summer season there are four tables for six people each at the open terrace area outside, as well as additional sofa seating. Next to the pavilion, herbs as well as cherry plums, plums, and apple trees grow – and guests are welcome to use the produce, for example, in cooking. The code for the pavilion’s key box can be found in the information provided in the cottages. For private events, the code is provided separately. Pavilion guests also have access to a new, accessible restroom in the nearby service building.
Each villa has a living room/kitchen, dining and lounge area, two bedrooms (with adjoining toilets and showers) and an electric heated sauna. There is a fireplace and firewood in the living room.
The modern open plan kitchen has a fridge and freezer, oven and induction stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, electric kettle, toaster and tableware for eight people. Each cottage includes coffee filter papers and baking paper, as well as salt and pepper, but no other food items.
Both bedrooms have double beds (separable in the smaller room), so they sleep four people. For additional beds you can use the sofa bed in the living room, and for a small child we have a travel cot (incl. mattress and protective sheet, not including sheets or bedding). Please notify us of the need for an extra bed or a travel cot (and high chair and potty) when making the reservation.
The villa is also equipped with a TV, WiFi (fiber optic), hairdryer and bathrobe.
The villa is heated with an air conditioner and the ventilation is electric. Electrical fire alarm system.
The patio of the villa has a sheltered terrace with lake views. Access the terrace from the living room and sauna. There is a dining table (for 6 people), a parasol and an electric grill on the terrace (only in the summer). Yard and beach lighting.
The rent includes bedlinen + bath and hand towels for four people. The extra bedlinen and towels for additional people cost 30 €/person. The extra bed will be made for you upon request on the sofa bed in the living room area. Travel cot, high chair and potty are 30 €/person.
The final cleaning is also included in the rent. Mid-stay cleaning is available for an additional fee. Firewood is included in the rent.
Pets are allowed (in villas number 8-9) for 100 € additional cost, which covers the extra cleaning work. The terraces of these cottages are fenced for pet safety. Water bowls and waste bags for pets are also provided. Please let us know if you want to bring your pet when you’re booking.
We also have sleds for kids. Iron and ironing board are available on request.
Kanava Resort is located on an island within the Saimaa archipelago, accessible by both land and water. Paths on the resort grounds are primarily gravel, which can be slightly uneven depending on the season. These paths also serve as emergency routes and are maintained throughout the winter.
Currently, none of the cottages are fully accessible, as access to cottages and storage facilities requires stairs.
The construction of Kanava Resort is staged, and as our business expands, we plan to hopefully add more cottages, including one that is fully accessible.
