Our cottages and villas offer the perfect setting for unwinding by the lake, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of Finnish nature. Whether you’re looking for an active holiday, quiet retreat or a cozy gathering with friends and family, your vacation starts here.
Our rental cottages are always high-quality, fully equipped, and located right on the shore of Lake Saimaa in the middle of Finland’s lakeland. That’s why we prefer to call them villas. All of our villas include a sauna, and most have not only an indoor sauna but also a traditional wood-heated outdoor sauna for summer use. Each villa also has a private pier, a rowing boat, and a fire pit.
On guided lake excursions (such as seal safaris, fishing trips, or Saimaa ringed seal tours), your guide can pick you up directly from your own pier. From our rental shop you can rent canoes, kayaks and fishing equipment and explore the lake by yourself.
Your booking always includes bed linen, towels, firewood, final cleaning, and starter packs of cleaning supplies and paper products.

Where are the cottages located?
Oravi is located in Savonlinna (40 km from the city center) on the shores of Lake Saimaa, close to Linnansaari National Park. The Oravi Villas are situated near the village services, the Manor Villas are about 5 km from Oravi center, and the Tallusniemi Villas are located in Ahvensalmi in a peaceful area about 12 km by road from Oravi center (about 6 km by boat). What is included in the cottage rental?
All cottage bookings (Oravi Villas, Tallusniemi Villas, and Manor Villas) include a rowing boat, Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels, firewood, final cleaning, and starter sets of detergents and paper products.
Are pets allowed in the cottage?
Pets are welcome in almost all of our villas (for an additional fee). Please mention the pet when making the reservation. Read more
Does the cottage have its own beach and pier?
Each villa has its own beach and pier. At the Kanava Resort cottages, there is one shared sandy beach and pier.
Are the cottages suitable for families with children?
Every villa includes a baby cot, high chair, and safety gate on the stairs. The shores are mostly rocky/moraine-based. A few villas have a shallower beach—our sales service can provide detailed information on each villa’s shoreline. The Tallusniemi cottages share one playground for children and also have a sandy beach.
Is there a barbecue area and equipment?
Each villa has a campfire spot by the shore with a fire pit and grill grate.
What should I pack for a rental cottage?
In addition to your personal belongings, bring your own food, drinks, and spices. The cottage includes basic cooking and tableware, bed linen, towels, firewood, water, electricity, starter sets of toilet paper, dish soap, hand soap, and shower gel. For longer stays, we do not restock paper products, but additional toilet paper can be purchased from the village shop. For hygiene reasons, no spices or food items are left in the cottage.
Can I order breakfast or other meals to the cottage?
Yes. In the online shop, you can add breakfast items to your booking. Restaurant Ruukinranta also offers catering services—request a quote from Oravi Sales.
Is electric car charging available?
Yes. Each villa has 1–2 charging sockets (16-amp fuse).
Are the cottages suitable for winter stays?
Yes, our villas are available year-round. All villas have underfloor heating as well as fireplaces that provide warmth and cozy ambiance.
Do the cottages have cooling in summer?
Yes, each villa is equipped with an air-source heat pump that provides cooling in summer.
Can I cancel my reservation and under what conditions?
If you cancel four (4) weeks or more before the start date, the paid deposit will be refunded minus a €90 cancellation fee. See the full booking terms here.
