Embark on an unforgettable nature adventure in the wilderness lake of Joutenvesi! This all-inclusive package combines active canoeing, relaxing sauna, delicious food, and cozy accommodation in the heart of the Lake Saimaa archipelago.
The journey begins in Oravi, from where you paddle independently through the peaceful waters of Lake Joutenvesi to Apuri in Ihamaniemi. You can bring your own gear or rent canoes in Oravi. The route follows sheltered waterways, passing quiet open lakes and beautiful islands – the first day’s paddle covers approximately 16 km.
At Apuri, your hosts will welcome you with a tasty snack and a warm sauna. After a relaxing steam, you’ll enjoy a three-course surprise dinner served either in the main cabin or a traditional kota hut.
Overnight accommodation is provided in charming log cabins or guest huts with twin rooms and ready-made beds. A shared bathroom is available for guests. In the morning, wake up to the peace of nature and enjoy a locally sourced breakfast. Before heading back, you’ll receive packed trail snacks for the return journey. The labyrinth of islands in Joutenvesi offers several scenic return routes to Oravi – the paddle back is 16–20 km depending on the chosen path.

Accommodation options:
- Apuri’s Cabin: One double room, one single room, and an upstairs loft with a double bed. Additional accommodation is available in the sauna cabin. Available with Option 1 only.
- Cottage and Granary: Sleeping alcove with a double bed, plus a sofa bed in the living area (ideal for families with children). The traditional granary building offers two double rooms with double beds, and the upstairs loft has two single beds.
- Cottage: One bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living area (ideal for families with children), with the option of additional accommodation for one person in the sauna cabin.
